Sage Essential Oil

Warming and Strengthening.

Sage pure essential oil is used for fatigue, general debility and in convalescence. It relieves aches and pains, particularly in over-exercised and stiff muscles, and is helpful in rheumatism and arthritis. Its expectorant and mucolytic properties assist to resolve colds and chest infections and it is also used to regularise and improve scanty or painful periods.

Despite its therapeutic value, Bataglia recommends Sage oil be used by professional aromatherapists only. Importantly, it should not be used during pregnancy, for young children or for anyone with epilepsy (Battaglia S 2003 The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy Queensland, The International Centre of Holistic Aromatherapy p 262).
